What’s the difference between ULSD storage and Gasoline storage?

ULSD (i.e. distillate) can be stored in both mild steel storage tanks and those tanks that have been modified to incorporate an internal floating deck.
Products (i.e. Gasoline / Motor Spirit) with a Reid Vapour pressure greater than 27.6KPA are restricted to tankage equipped with floating decks.

What’s the difference between dedicated and commingled storage?

With a dedicated tank we assign a specific tank to a customer, whereas with commingled capacity we only assign a volume of capacity to that customer, not specific tanks.

If I chose to hire commingled capacity, what are the conditions related to storing products?

Firstly, the products must meet relevant British standard specifications. Secondly, tank bottoms are shared equally amongst users and finally, when tank cleaning is carried out an allowance is made for use of tanks by other parties.

How do you minimise stock losses on Motor Spirit which are volatile in nature when I load RTW’s?

The majority of Gasoline vapour emissions resulting from truck loading operations will be captured and reprocessed in the Vapour Recovery Unit (VRU). The vapours will be collected in a vapour holder prior to being circulated through an activated carbon adsorption column. The recovered liquid will then be absorbed into a counter-current circulating stream of unleaded motor spirit from a 4,000 cbm commingled tank.

What do you charge me for this service?

A reprocessing charge will be levied to allow the company to recover the costs of operating the VRU. The charge will be applied per litre of reprocessed product credited to each customer’s stock account at month end.
Product shall be allocated each month according to an agreed formula.

What additional services can you provide?

In addition to receiving finished products we are able to blend components, therefore producing finished material.
We are able to provide product marking, supply LRP additive and supply both gasoline and ULSD additive at the loading racks.
At the London terminal we also have the capability to butanise gasoline direct from ship to shore tank.

How do I get my product out?

The majority of the shore tanks whether dedicated or commingled are set up to send product to bottom loading bays. Some tanks are also set up to send product back to ship and barge.

I need to supply supermarket petrol stations safely, quickly and efficiently, how can you help me do this?

We operate on the basis of turning road tankers around as quickly and safely as possible.
This is achieved by installing state of the art automated technology that allows drivers to load themselves in minimal time.
All drivers have to pass an induction, and are accompanied by an operator until they are trained to the level required to load themselves.
At the London terminal we are open 24/7 for all Road tankers that use the ATL (Automatic Truck Loading) system, thus alleviating the need to charge overtime.
