Vopak Terminal London Open Day
Vopak Terminal London B.V Limited opened its doors on the 25th July 2008 to its customers. This was to celebrate the completion of seven new tanks built complying with the latest safety and legalisation standards. This has seen the terminal increase capacity by 13% and is the first time in 20 years development and investment of new tankage has taken place on the Thames for the independent sector.
A marquee was erected on site housing displays of the new build process from concept to completion. IndigoVison, Thurrock & Basildon College and Waterstones also took part in the display showing their latest technology and courses. A mini bus tour of the site was also available transporting customers safely around the site seeing firsthand the completed tanks and further recent investment. A family day was also held at the terminal on Saturday 26th of July, which gave the opportunity for family and friends to see what their parents, partners and friends do to contribute to the local region.
Entertainment was put on for the children which ranged from face paints, to a bouncy castle, so a good day was had by all.
Vopak London predominately stores fuel at its terminal storing products such as diesel, gasoline and is at the forefront of environmentally friendly fuels. The retail market benefits from Vopak’s two major customers who import fuel to the terminal which is then supplied to all major hypermarkets in the south east.
