Vopak Terminal Linkeroever in Antwerpen officially open
John Paul Broeders, Chairman of the Executive Board of Vopak, and Luc Soly, Managing Director Vopak Belgium, have officially opened the new terminal on Thursday June 18th.
The first phase of Vopak Terminal Linkeroever consists of 60 tanks with a total capacity of 100,000 cbm, eight loading stations for trucks and railway wagons and three mooring places (one jetty for seagoing vessels and two jetties for coasters or inland tank barges). This chemical distribution terminal can grow to 400,000 cbm within the next years.
The terminal will service the chemical manufacturing plants in the region and accommodate the growing importance of the Benelux storage market for the European market. The new downstream manufacturing facilities in the Middle East will increasingly supply the Rotterdam and Antwerp harbours as gateways into Europe.
